Q: WHAT HUNTING EQUIPMENT & PERSONAL GEAR DO I NEED TO BRING?
A: Rifle and archery hunting both require specific equipment. We offer the following suggested lists of what hunting gear to bring:

Full Service Hunting Camps

Q: DO I NEED A HUNTER EDUCATION/SAFETY CARD?
A: Anyone (CO resident or non-resident) born on or after January 1, 1949, must have a hunter safety card, regardless of which state you are coming from. The Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) accepts hunter safety cards from other states. The CDOW offers information on replacing lost hunter education/safety cards or proving course completion. To obtain a hunters education card contact your local DOW office.

Q: WHAT GAME MANAGEMENT UNITS (GMU’S) ARE YOU PERMITTED TO HUNT IN?
A: Del’s Triangle 3 Ranch is a licensed Colorado Outfitter (License #22) – insured and bonded. We
operate in the Zirkel Wilderness Area and the Routt National Forest under a US Forest Service special use permit, and are permitted in Game Management Units 5, 14, 161, and 214.

Q: HOW DO I OBTAIN A COLORADO HUNTING LICENSE?
A: There are two ways to get a Colorado hunting license:
  Limited Seasons: To apply for a Limited License, you must apply online or submit a paper application to CDOW. For questions on Limited Licenses or preference points, contact the CDOW help line at 303-297-1192.
  Over The Counter: Purchase an over the counter license from a CDOW license agent. Locally we recommend The Clark Store (970-879-3849 – 54175 RCR 129, Clark, CO 80428) or Straightline Outdoor Sports (970-879-7568 – 744 Lincoln Ave., Steamboat Springs, CO 80477).

Q: WHAT ADDITIONAL FEES MIGHT I HAVE?
A: In addition to the cost per hunter for a Full Service Hunting camp or a Drop Camp, the following additional fees may apply:
  Hunting License: See above.
  Meat Processing & Shipping: Locally we recommend Steamboat Meat & Seafood Company (970-879-3504 – 1030 Yampa St., Steamboat Springs, CO 80488)
  Taxidermy: Locally we recommend B & L Taxidermy (970-879-1316 – 1744 Lincoln Avenue # 2, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477)
  Airfare: Locally we recommend Steamboat Central Reservations for air transportation.
  Lodging Before/After The Hunt: Locally we recommend Steamboat Central Reservations for lodging.

Q: WHAT TYPES OF ELK & DEER HUNTS DO YOU OFFER?
A: Del’s Triangle 3 Ranch offers several great Colorado rifle, muzzleloading, or archery hunting experiences:
  Full Service Hunting Camps: Our Full Service Hunting Camps are 5-day hunts with one experienced guide for every 2 hunters. We include everything you need for a memorable deer or elk hunt.
  Drop Camps: We pack you and your gear into, and out of a fully equiped Drop Camp in a prime Routt National Forest hunting location.
  Freight Hauls: Depending on your desired hunting location within the Routt National Forest or Mt. Zirkel Wilderness area, we can pack you and your gear into and out of your selected camp. Plese call 970-879-3495 for freight haul rates and availability.

Q: AT WHAT ELEVATION WILL I HUNT?
A: You will be hunting at high altitude. Our hunting camps range from 7,000 to 10,000 thousand feet in elevation. We highly recommend physical conditioning before the hunting season begins and suggest arriving several days early to acclimate.
